Harry Reveals Restraint in Conflict with William

Prince Harry has shared startling details about a physical altercation with his brother, Prince William, in his revealing memoir, Spare. The memoir delves into Harry’s complex feelings of being overshadowed by his older brother, the heir to the throne.

In one particularly intense passage, Harry recounts a physical confrontation at his Nottingham Cottage home on the grounds of Kensington Palace. The incident began with a heated argument, with William allegedly repeating criticisms of Meghan Markle, calling her “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.” The dispute escalated, resulting in William grabbing Harry by the collar and knocking him to the floor, causing Harry to land on a dog bowl, which broke and injured his back.

Following the altercation, William advised Harry, “You don’t need to tell Meg about this.” Harry, however, first contacted his therapist to process his emotions. When Meghan eventually noticed his “scrapes and bruises,” Harry explained the incident to her. According to Harry, Meghan wasn’t shocked or angry but was “terribly sad.”

Harry’s account portrays William as initially aggressive but later regretful. William urged Harry to retaliate, referencing childhood fights, but Harry refused, choosing not to escalate the situation further. The memoir captures Harry’s decision to rise above the conflict, underscoring his commitment to resolving issues peacefully.

This revelation adds another layer to the ongoing public discourse about the dynamics within the royal family, particularly between Harry and William. Through Spare, Harry aims to provide a candid and personal perspective on his experiences and struggles within the royal fold.
