QUETTA: Muhammad Hashim Ghalzai, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Balochistan and Patron of HDWSA, visited the headquarters of Balochistan’s premier Canoe Kayak and Rowing Olympic Sports International Academy, the “Hayat Durrani Canoe Kayak, Rowing Water Sports Academy” along with other distinguished guests.
The purpose of the visit was to participate in the ongoing “Protect Environment Tree Plantation” project initiated in 1986 aimed at restoring the ecosystem and raising environmental awareness among youth and athletes in Balochistan.
Hayatullah Khan Durrani, Founder and CEO of HDWSA, welcomed Muhammad Hashim Ghalzai and the esteemed guests for inaugural ceremony of the tree Plantation for the year 2024. Hayatullah Khan Durrani, who also serves as the Secretary of the Pakistan Canoe and Kayak Federation provided an overview of the academy’s four decades of activities and achievements, emphasizing the remarkable performances of National and International athletes in canoeing and rowing Olympic sports.
Notably, the honorary Canoeing team of Pakistan Customs Quetta, trained at HDWSA under the guidance of qualified technical staff and coaches has garnered numerous accolades for the country.
The “Protect Environment Tree Plantation” Project, initiated by Hayatullah Khan Durrani in 1986 at the renowned Hayat Durrani Water Sports Academy International (Pvt, Ltd) and its sprawling ranch at Hanna Lake Quetta, aims to promote environmental protection, sustainability, and ecosystem restoration. Muhammad Hashim Ghalzai actively participated in tree planting as part of this initiative, highlighting the importance of eco-friendly practices for environmental conservation.
The event witnessed the participation of Muhammad Abubakar Durrani, a National and International Canoeing Champion from Pakistan Customs, along with other notable athletes and distinguished guests Ejaz Ahmed (Regional head National Bank of Pakistan) Syed Shakiruddin Shah, (Regional Head Allied Bank), Abdul Rehman Khan, Abbas Khan Durrani (Chairman Durrani Qawmi Ithihad Pak) and Jan Muhammad (Madina walla) visited The tree plantation efforts for the year 2024 will continue, contributing to the preservation of Hanna Lake’s ecosystem.
During the visit, Muhammad Hashim Ghalzai toured the Hayat Durrani academy’s facilities, including the tree plantation project areas, the ranch, the indoor facilities, and the office of the Chief Executive. He commended Mr. Hayatullah Khan Durrani for his exceptional leadership and contributions to sports and environmental conservation in the region.
The visit concluded with Iftar party, providing an opportunity for further discussion and camaraderie among the distinguished guests and athletes of the Hayat Durrani Water Sports Academy.
