Health awareness seminar at FPCCI on World Thalassemia Day organized by Dr. Zahid Hasan Ansari

KARACHI: Dr. Zahid Hasan Ansari organized a Health Awareness Seminar on World Thalassemia Day at Federation House under the platform of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
The event was led by Dr. Zahid Hasan Ansari, Former Secretary of the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA),
Member CM Advisery Council for DEPD Government of Sindh, and Chairman of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Medical and Health Sciences.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about ongoing efforts toward the prevention, management, and possible eradication of Thalassemia in Pakistan. Speakers emphasised on Implementation of Existing Act already passed in Sindh Assembly and to create Awareness It also highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in addressing this serious health condition and promoting a healthier nation.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Syed Shaihida Rehmani Memeber National Assembly emphasized in his address the need to spread disease awareness at all levels of society, particularly in underprivileged and rural communities where such initiatives are often limited.

The speakers shared valuable insights on the prevention, management, and diagnosis of hemophilia, stressing early detection and proper medical care.
The seminar was well attended by members of FPCCI Standing Committees, doctors, industrialists, NGOs, philanthropists, medical professionals, and representatives from thalassemia and hemophilia centers. Children affected by Thalassemia also present, highlighting the importance of continued awareness and support efforts.
Shields and flowers were presented to the Chief Guest and keynote speakers, while certificates of appreciation were awarded to distinguished philanthropists for their contributions to public health.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Zahid Hasan Ansari expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, speakers, and attendees for making the event a success. He reaffirmed FPCCI’s commitment to supporting national health initiatives and promoting disease awareness across Pakistan.
