KARACHI: Consul General of China in Karachi Yang Yundong was invited by Karachi Press Club in their Meet the Press programme, here Tuesday.
Praising the KPC he said it is is one of the earliest established journalists’ club in Pakistan and plays an irreplaceable role in integrating media resources and promoting communication. He said the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi has always maintained a good working relationship with the club and highly appreciates the positive role you play in promoting China-Pakistan friendship and people-to-people exchanges, he added.
Chinese Consulate General supports the continuous growth and development of KPC and will continue to provide all possible support. We hope media friends will continue to focus on China’s development and progress, China-Pakistan relations, and practical cooperation in various fields, especially the construction of CPEC, telling vivid stories of the two peoples and deepening the “ironclad” friendship between our two countries, he added.
The China CG said that at present, the world is experiencing accelerated changes unseen in a century. With regional conflicts dragging on, and instability, uncertainty, and unpredictability spreading globally, the world is facing a new period of turmoil and transformation. However, as all-weather strategic cooperative partners, China and Pakistan’s relationship has withstood the test of international changes and remains rock-solid and stable as Mount Himalayas.
Over a month ago, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif successfully visited China. The leaders of the two countries reached broad consensus on further deepening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan, promoting practical cooperation in various fields, and addressing international and regional issues of common concern. Our two countries maintain close communication and exchanges at all levels, and our relationship is very unique, he added.
Yang Yundong said the political mutual trust between our two countries is deep and profound, and strategic cooperation has been continuously enhanced. The leaders of our two countries reaffirmed that they will continue to view and develop China-Pakistan relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, take effective measures to safeguard the common interests of both countries, promote socio-economic development, enhance the well-being of the two peoples, and jointly maintain regional peace, stability, and development.
He went on to say that China firmly supports Pakistan in defending its national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, supports Pakistan in independently choosing a development path that is in line with its national conditions, supports its efforts to maintain national security, stability, development and prosperity, its resolute fight against terrorism, its greater role in international and regional affairs. And we wish Pakistan to achieve socio-economic development, prosperity, unity, stability and security. The active development of China-Pakistan relations will always remain a priority in China’s diplomacy.
Deepen China-Pakistan practical cooperation and benefit the people of our two countries. The cooperation between China and Pakistan is the most comprehensive and in-depth.
