KARACHI: Pioneer of Advanced Minimally-Invasive Heart Surgery and Former Head of cardiac surgery Department, National Institute of cardiovascular diseases Dr Pervez Chaudhry addressed his grievances in a Press briefing on Thursday here at Karachi Press Club.
He said that NICVD management did not fulfill their commitment, violated my Contract, sacked me and replaced Dr. Asad Awan at my position, even unable to clear my dues. He said that when I joined NICVD the mortality rate is too high i.e. 26% instead of 6% which is quoted by International best Practices. After my joining NICVD the death ratio dropped down to 15% but now NICVD is at the mercy of Allah that they are using non-approved medicines and my introduced various cardiac surgeries Programs are going to end.
He said that human life is at risk at NICVD due to presence of un professional management team headed by its management consultant Haider Awan who failed to present his Graduation degree to NAB investigation team as well as his Contract document of Rs. 1.8 million.
While the Hospital management of NICVD on Wednesday said that it had replaced head of cardiac surgery department Dr Pervaiz Chaudhry only after his contract had expired and it had nothing to do with his measures for prevention of COVID-19 cases in the facility in a statement.
