IDEAS 2022 2nd Steering Committee Meeting

KARACHI: International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) is a mega national event; biennially organized by Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) in Pakistan. Since its inception in the year 2000, IDEAS has emerged as an international rendezvous of defence manufacturers, entrepreneurs, R&D specialists, financial experts, and top level policy makers to promote cooperation, knowledge sharing and support ventures in the field of defence collaboration. IDEAS is the event that brings together the national and international defence industry for synergistic businesses and cooperation, says a Press release.
11th Edition of IDEAS-2022 is scheduled from 15-18 November 2022 at Karachi Expo Centre (KEC). To provide impetus to ongoing national level preparations for this strategically important event, 2nd Steering Committee Meeting was held on 21 July 2022 at Chief Minster House Karachi and was chaired by Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh. It was attended by senior representatives from Federal Ministries, various departments of Government of Sindh, Armed Forces of Pakistan, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), DEPO officials and Badar Expo Solutions, the Event Manager.
The meeting was aimed at bringing all stakeholders at one page for holding this major event of Pakistan at par with international standards.
In his address, Chief Minister Sindh highlighted that hosting the 11th edition of IDEAS is a testimony to our pledge for encouraging technological growth and exchange in the region. The event will significantly contribute towards fostering and promoting Pakistan’s strategic relations with international fraternity and would serve to achieve the shared objectives of global peace, stability and balance.
He attributed successful conduct of IDEAS since year 2000 to all out support by various government departments, Armed Forces of Pakistan, LEAs, public – private defence industry, trade bodies and largely the people of Karachi.
DG DEPO, Maj General Muhammad Arif Malik, HI (M) highlighted that event as per its traditions will host number of splendid activities encompassing world’s cutting edge defence technology demonstrations, International Seminar and business expansions through well planned B2B / B2G engagements.
In addition IDEAS Karachi Show will exclusively be arranged for the people of Karachi at Sea View (Nishan-e-Pakistan) on 17 November 2022.
During the meeting, all government organizations and departments pledged their full support for successful conduct of IDEAS 2022.
