KARACHI: A confident looking Chairman PCB, Ramiz Raja, categorically said that he is very much holding the ground and not going anywhere. Addressing a press conference at the National Stadium, in Karachi, he sarcastically said that the people sitting in front of me wants that he should be removed, so that headlines could be made. He said that I am holding the office even after the regime change and functioning for the last two and a half months.
On a question about Karachi being neglected, Ramiz Raja visibly seemed jittery, outrightly rejected it and said that Karachi has not being ignored and this thinking is the mind set of certain people.
Ramiz Raja said that Pakistan is the first country to introduce junior league and added that the Pakistan Junior League will bring new talent and very soon players from junior league will make way to represent Pakistan.
Ramiz Raja announced that Javed Miandad, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Daren Sammy as mentors for the inaugural Pakistan Junior League, which will be played in October in Lahore this year. Javed Miandad will be league mentor while Daren Sammy, Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik will be team mentors and all four will serve as event ambassadors.
