ISLAMABAD: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has officially placed Pakistan’s case on the agenda of its Executive Board meeting scheduled for December 8, 2025, according to the latest update on the Fund’s website.
At the upcoming session, the Board will consider granting final approval for the release of the next $1.2 billion tranche-covering both the second review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the first review of the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
The development follows the staff-level agreement reached last month in Washington, where IMF officials concluded the second economic review under the EFF and signed off on the initial RSF assessment. Once the Executive Board gives its approval, Pakistan is expected to receive $1 billion (SDR 760 million) under the EFF and an additional $200 million (SDR 154 million) under the RSF. With this, Pakistan’s cumulative disbursements under both programmes will rise to approximately $3.3 billion.
