Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister of Pakistan, has been disqualified from the race for the prestigious position of Chancellor at the University of Oxford, it was revealed on Wednesday.
Khan had submitted his candidacy for the role, but his application was deemed ineligible due to his current imprisonment. A leading UK-based legal firm highlighted that, according to the university’s regulations, Khan does not meet the eligibility criteria for the Chancellorship while incarcerated.
A total of 40 candidates have been approved for the race, with Khan’s name officially excluded from the list.
