KARACHI: An Independence Day rally was organised by the Government Girls Degree College, Block-N, North Nazimabad, with Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem leading the procession.
The rally was attended by college students, Principal Prof. Ruby Tabassum, and teaching and non-teaching staff. It started from the college premises and proceeded to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Muhammad Asim Abbasi joined the participants.
The rally then proceeded towards People’s Chowrangi under the leadership of DC Taha Saleem. The students waved national flags and raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”, expressing their commitment to national unity, patriotism and the country’s progress and prosperity.
After a brief stop at People’s Chowrangi, the rally returned to the college and concluded there.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. Ruby Tabassum said Independence Day was an opportunity to remember the sacrifices made for the creation of Pakistan and to remind the younger generation of its responsibility towards the country’s development.
The enthusiastic participation of the students reflected their commitment to playing a constructive role in Pakistan’s progress, unity and prosperity.
