KARACHI: Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Pakistan H.E. Mohamed Karmoune and Hon. Consul General Ishtiaq Baig hosted a distinguished reception at the Consul General’s residence to mark the 27th anniversary of the accession to the Throne of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The event was attended by Governor Sindh Syed Nehal Hashmi, Consuls General, Ministers, Members of Parliament, members of the Moroccan community, prominent businessmen, senior officials, and distinguished guests. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Pakistan and Morocco.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Karmoune highlighted Morocco’s remarkable progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and reaffirmed the strong bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Morocco. Hon. Consul General Ishtiaq Baig said he considers Morocco his second home and emphasized the growing economic ties between the two countries. He noted that bilateral trade has reached approximately US$800 million and is expected to cross US$1 billion in the coming years.
