Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck’s ex-wife, reportedly feels exploited after becoming entangled in the marital issues between Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. As the couple announced their divorce, sources revealed that Garner had been spending more time with Affleck, trying to assist him and Lopez in working through their problems and maintaining his sobriety.
According to a friend, Garner feels “slightly used” in what she perceives as Lopez’s efforts to salvage her marriage with Affleck. The source stated, “Jen doesn’t believe it was intentional but feels as though she was used as a pawn.”
Garner had taken on a mediating role to help address the couple’s issues and support Affleck’s sobriety. However, once it became apparent that the marriage was beyond repair, Garner’s focus shifted solely to Affleck’s well-being.
Garner’s friends are reportedly “extremely unimpressed” by how Lopez involved Garner during the divorce process. They believe that a man’s ex-wife should not have to mediate between him and his current spouse, especially considering the complex dynamics involved.
Garner, who shares three children with Affleck—Violet (18), Finn (15), and Samuel (12)—has been prioritizing co-parenting since their divorce in 2018. She is now focused on supporting her children and moving forward.
Meanwhile, Lopez is said to be “heartbroken” over her decision to divorce Affleck. A source revealed that Lopez is prepared to “move on” after spending much of the summer apart from Affleck amidst ongoing divorce rumors.
