The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted more rainfall for Karachi today after light showers graced several parts of the city early in the morning.
According to the Met Office, temperatures in the city could rise to a high of 33°C, with the humidity level recorded at 94%. Winds from the west were measured at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour earlier in the day. The PMD also indicated that more light rain and drizzles are expected in the port city throughout the day.
Earlier in the morning, areas such as Mauripur Road, Lyari, Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulshan-e-Jamal, Rashid Minhas Road, Sharea Faisal, and their surroundings experienced light rainfall, bringing a refreshing change to the weather.
In addition to Karachi, other parts of the country also enjoyed improved weather conditions. Lahore saw a pleasant shift after late-night and early-morning showers.
Heavy rain was reported in and around Rawalpindi, resulting in power outages in several areas. Islamabad also experienced light rain, which contributed to cooler temperatures, while other regions such as Mansehra, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Peshawar, and Malakand received rainfall as well.
The meteorological department has warned that more rain is expected across various parts of the country today. Additionally, the PMD cautioned that the rainfall could potentially trigger landslides in the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday.
