Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday criticized the federal government for its plans to amend the Constitution, alleging that it is an attempt to hinder the progress of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking to the media in Jalozai, Nowshera, after inaugurating a low-cost housing project under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme, Gandapur claimed that a constitutional court is being established above the Supreme Court to block PTI’s path. “They are introducing a constitutional amendment. Nothing has been achieved through force or by imprisoning our workers,” he said.
Gandapur also addressed the ongoing media narrative against PTI, stating that the party remains united under the leadership of Imran Khan, dismissing rumors of internal rifts.
During the event, the chief minister handed over keys to 116 apartments from the low-cost housing scheme, which spans 150 kanals and has a total of 1,320 residential units. The project, built at a cost of Rs3.3 billion, is part of Imran Khan’s promise to provide affordable housing for individuals earning less than Rs50,000 monthly. The eligibility criteria are verified by NADRA and the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority.
Gandapur also inaugurated a sports complex within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Scheme, covering 42 kanals, at a cost of Rs17 million, with 8 kanals allocated for sports facilities. Adviser to the Chief Minister on Housing, Dr. Amjad Ali, was also present at the ceremony.
