LEAs Rescue 8 Workers Kidnapped by TTP in Lakki Marwat

RAWALPINDI: Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and security forces successfully rescued eight out of 17 civilian workers abducted by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists in the Kabbal Khel area of Lakki Marwat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The militant group, responsible for several violent incidents in the region, reportedly demanded ransom for their release.

According to security sources, the Fitna Al Khwarij, a term referring to insurgent factions opposing the state, burned a vehicle belonging to a local contractor and fled with the abductees. Efforts are underway to secure the release of the remaining nine hostages.

Security officials emphasized that the TTP’s violent activities have no connection to Islamic teachings and vowed to bring those responsible to justice. The TTP claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that some of the hostages were identified as employees of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, although no specific demands were disclosed.

The recovery operation is ongoing, with LEAs committed to ensuring the safety of the remaining captives.
