MeriMaaHimmatKaNishan is launched so as to empower mothers through ownership

KARACHI: Khudi Pakistan, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands, proudly announces the launch of #MeriMaaHimmatKaNishan, a pioneering social and financial empowerment initiative aimed at uplifting mothers and families in need. Conceptualized by Ms. Sarwat N. Shah, the project is grounded in a mission to promote impactful and sustainable women empowerment through community development and resource access.
At the core of this campaign lie stories of resilience of mothers of Karachi. At the launch event, the Winner of 100 Sq yards plot was the heartwarming and powerful story of Ghazala, mother of Hooria – a young burn survivor who endured multiple surgeries and now thrives as a student at a TCF Foundation School. Her story, along with that of Angel Mother Sarah Bano, is a moving testament to the unwavering strength, love, and perseverance of mothers. During the event, Hooria captivated attendees with a heartfelt poem on motherhood.
The event was graced by several notable personalities, including: Sabina Khatri, Founder; Kiran Foundation, Razzak Pardesi, Founder, IHRI; Durdana Arshad, Women Empowerment Chair, Rotary Pakistan; Changgaiz Khan, Chairman, Team Balochistan; Sarah Bano, along with representatives from Al Furqan Welfare and Special Olympics; Shoaib Ghaziani and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Ghazala’s presence, and her sharing of a deeply personal journey of strength, was a highlight of the event.
The #MeriMaaHimmatKaNishan campaign aspires to serve as a platform where mothers can share their experiences, access essential resources, and build lasting community bonds. Key objectives include:

Creating a supportive ecosystem for mothers to connect and grow
Raising awareness on the challenges of motherhood and offering training and development opportunities
As a major partner in the initiative, NISA Block is committed to fostering socio-economic independence for women by offering affordable property solutions. As part of the campaign, five mothers will be honored with the “Mother of Resilience” award, receiving a 100-square-yard residential plot in NISA Block, symbolizing security and a hopeful future.
Sarwat N. Shah passionately shared her own journey and emphasized the transformative power of women’s empowerment.
Sabina Khatri commended the initiative’s vision and lauded NISA Block’s role in making property accessible to women.
Razzak Pardesi remarked on the evolving and vital role of women in today’s communities.

This initiative is a bold step towards developmental giving-moving beyond short-term aid towards sustainable, dignity-focused solutions. It champions independence through empowerment, helping mothers and families build stable lives rooted in education, ownership, and opportunity.
