Yang hosts symposium on ‘Perceiving China’ Summer Camp for visiting KU team


Yang Yundong the Consul General of China in Karachi invited the Karachi University Students “Perceiving China” Summer Camp to visit the Consulate during the reported week. The delegation of 12 teachers and students from well-known universities such as the University of Karachi visited Beijing, Chengdu and other places under the arrangement of Sichuan Normal University.
Yundong Yang congratulated the successful holding of the “Perceive China” summer camp for Qatari colleges and universities in China, and believed that through this visit, they had a deeper understanding of China’s long-standing civilization and rapid economic and social development. He hoped that more young students would learn Chinese well, serve as ambassadors of friendly exchanges between China and Pakistan, and contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
Representatives of teachers and students talked about what they saw and heard during their stay in China, and praised China’s tremendous development achievements. They said that this visit will be unforgettable, and they will work hard to learn Chinese, tell the story of China-Pakistan friendship well, enhance the Pakistani people’s understanding of Chinese culture and China’s development, and continue the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan.

Cemal Sangu graces the 34th LadiesFund Power Lunch

The 34th LadiesFund Power Lunch, a much-anticipated networking event, was graced by Cemal Sangu, Turkish Consul General to Karachi as the Chief Guest during the last week. This dynamic session brought together 50 distinguished women leaders, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to amplify women’s voices in high-level networking spaces.
“We continue to transform the way power spaces and networking at the highest level take place, placing women front row and center in these conversations,” stated LadiesFund President Tara Uzra Dawood. “With this thirty-fourth lunch, we further grow this pool as agents of change and the sectors represented.”
Cemal Sanguexpressed his honor at being the Chief Guest, noting, “It was a privilege to be part of such a gathering of some of the most interesting and amazing women, and a handful of dynamic men.” He highlighted the long-standing collaboration between the Turkish Consulate and LadiesFund, which includes bringing top Turkish female speakers to Pakistan and sponsoring Pakistani girls to study in Turkiye. “We look forward to this close relationship continuing from strength to strength. Where there is a woman, there is magic!”
The event featured notable comments from several distinguished attendees.
Yasmeen Lari shared her enthusiasm, saying, “I really enjoyed the LadiesFund gathering of like-minded friends and interesting people, all discussing ways to contribute to a better Pakistan.”
Nargis Rehman, Convener of Karachi Citizens’ Forum, remarked, “LadiesFund events are some of the most substance-filled. It has been a learning experience for me to connect with a diversity of exceptionally talented achievers.”

Niilofur Farrukh, CEO of Karachi Biennale, appreciated the carefully designed menu and Uzra Dawood’s commitment as the founder of this dynamic initiative.
