ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday said that Modi’s RSS-inspired doctrine on Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) is clear on depriving Kashmiris of their right to self-determination, imposing inhuman lockdown in the held territory and dubbing the Kashmiris’ struggle as terrorism.
Slamming Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir, the Prime Minister in a series of tweets said as a first step India is depriving Kashmiris of their right of self-determination by illegal annexation of an occupied territory.
Second, the Prime Minister said, it is treating them as less than human by a three-pronged approach including trying to crush them with brute force by using inhumane weapons like pellet guns against women and children; imposing an inhumane lockdown depriving Kashmiris of basic necessities from food to medicines; and by mass arrests of Kashmiris especially youth and isolating Occupied Kashmir from the world by cutting off all communication links.
The Prime Minister further said that as third step, India is trying to show Kashmiris’ right to struggle for self-determination guaranteed in United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions as terrorism being abetted by Pakistan. The aim is to create opportunity for a false flag operation against Pakistan while detracting world attention away from Indian state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has rejected Indian army chief’s recent statement levelling allegations against Islamabad and hurling threats, saying these are part of India’s desperate attempts to divert the world’s attention from human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir.
In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said the indigenous Kashmiri resistance being faced by India is the direct consequence of New Delhi’s unabated oppression and brutalization of Kashmiris. She said India’s mischievous attempts to portray the legitimate Kashmiri struggle for self-determination as terrorism would not succeed.
The spokesperson urged the international community to take cognizance and force India to act responsibly in the interest of regional peace and stability.
A day earlier, the Indian army chief’s alleged Pakistan for organising and supporting a new “terror group” in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoJ&K), known as ‘The Resistance Front’. “I would rather call it Terror Revival Front. It is another terrorist organisation by another name. This is a terrorist organisation supported by its proxies across the border. They will be dealt with appropriately,” General MM Naravane had said in an interview. – TLTP
