Mubasher Mir urges Sindh govt to act as delays stall construction of Maasooma-e-Sindh Shrine

HYDERABAD: Karachi Editors Club (KEC) President and Daily Pakistan Editor, Mubasher Mir, has expressed serious concern over the prolonged suspension of government-funded construction work at the Roza-e-Athar of Maasooma-e-Sindh in Agham Kot. He warned that the delay is creating opportunities for miscreants to exploit the situation and carry out conspiracies that may undermine the sanctity and progress of the project.
Speaking to media representatives during his visit to the shrine, where construction work has been halted recently at the site of Roza-e-Athar, Mir said that the slow pace and unexplained stoppage of the official development work is alarming and unacceptable.
He stated that, “The prolonged stoppage of construction provides ground for conspirators to create hurdles for the government-led project. Such negligence allows disruptive elements to take advantage of the situation and fuel unnecessary complications.”
Mir added that during his regular visits to the site, he personally observed that the absence of continued construction has encouraged certain miscreants to resume creating fake graves in the area – a practice previously curbed when work was active. He warned that if the construction remains halted, such activities will strengthen and may create severe obstacles for the government project.
He urged the Sindh government, particularly the Auqaf Department, to immediately take serious notice of what he described as “deliberate delaying tactics” being used to obstruct progress. He stressed the need to fast-track the construction to prevent further exploitation by disruptive groups.
During the visit, Mir was accompanied by Syed Manzar Naqvi, head of the Zaireen Khidmat Committee Agham Kot, Senior Supreme Court Advocate Syed Abad-ul-Hussain, Zawar Abdul Sattar Dars, and other members.
Officials from the Sindh Auqaf Department, including Khadim Yar Muhammad Lanjwani and Ghulam Haider Leghari, briefed Mubasher Mir in detail about the reasons behind the delays and the challenges faced in resuming the work.
Mir concluded by reiterating that the sanctity and completion of the shrine’s construction must remain a priority and that concerned authorities must act urgently to prevent further sabotage and ensure smooth continuation of the government project
