Suzuki becomes official global partner of CAF tournaments through 2027

TFD Report
HAMAMATSU: Suzuki Motor Corporation has signed a landmark sponsorship agreement with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), becoming the Official Global Partner for four major CAF tournaments scheduled until June 2027. The agreement includes the prestigious TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, set to take place in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
A formal signing ceremony was held on Tuesday,11 November at Suzuki’s headquarters in Hamamatsu, Japan. The event was attended by Véron Mosengo-Omba, General Secretary of CAF, and Yusuke Kato, Managing Officer and Executive General Manager for Automobile Marketing – Europe, Middle East and Africa at Suzuki Motor Corporation.
This partnership marks a significant step in Suzuki’s long-term commitment to expanding its presence in the African market, which the company has identified as one of its priority regions under its New Mid-Term Management Plan announced earlier this year. With Africa’s rapidly growing automotive demand-particularly for fuel-efficient, durable, and high-quality vehicles-Suzuki aims to capitalize on market needs that closely mirror those of India, where Suzuki has a strong manufacturing base.
Leveraging these synergies, Suzuki has been actively introducing Indian-made models into African markets to strengthen sales and meet evolving customer preferences. In FY 2024, Suzuki recorded sales of 109,373 units across 51 African countries, representing a 112% year-on-year increase. Popular models in the region include the Swift, Jimny, Fronx, S-Presso, Baleno, Dzire, and Grand Vitara.
Speaking at the ceremony, Yusuke Kato said:
“We are very pleased to have concluded a sponsorship agreement with CAF.
Sports have the power to connect people and nurture hope for the future.
Through this partnership, we aim to further strengthen the ties between Suzuki, football, and Africa, enhancing Suzuki’s brand presence across the continent.
We will continue to support the lives of all who love football by delivering the joy of mobility and enriching their daily lives.”
Football remains the most followed sport across Africa, and Suzuki sees the sponsorship as a strategic avenue to boost brand recognition, enhance customer engagement, and drive long-term business growth on the continent.
