ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority has operationalised two more separate hotlines for prompt registration of locust and coronavirus related complaints.
A spokesman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in a statement on Sunday that the Covid-19 related complaints could be registered by contacting 24/7 hotline 0304-111-01-61 while locust related complaints could be registered at 0304-111-01-62. The hotline has been established at the operation room of NDMA.
Earlier on Wednesday, the NDMA in a bid to facilitate complaints related to locusts has activated a hotline 051-111-222-999 for registering and resolving issues pertaining to their attacks.
Meanwhile, the NDMA will provide 100 ventilators to the provinces in view of their increasing demand by corona patients. According to the NDMA spokesman, a letter to this effect has been dispatched to all the four provinces for receiving ventilators.
He said the provinces are also being provided with BiPAP portable ventilators. Ten BiPAP portable ventilators have also been allocated for Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan each. The spokesperson said medical staff will also be trained to operate these ventilators.
He said provision of the ventilators has already been ensured to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad, as per the required number. – TLTP
