MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana on Thursday directed the Electricity Department to provide Federal governments announced relief to the state’s industrial and commercial consumers as well ensuring its implementation from the ongoing month.
He was presiding over a meeting in connection with the federal government’s announced package aimed to provide relief to the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) here on Thursday.
The Chief Secretary told federal government wants to help smaller businesses affected by the lockdown and so it had introduced this scheme to ensure that it can facilitate them as much as possible.
He informed that businesses with 5KW connections and industries with 70KW connections will not have to pay their bills for three months. “The government was going to approximate their energy usage for the months of May, June and July, when they resume operations, and pay their bills in advance”, he added.
Mathar Niaz Rana clarified that incase of less billing, the industrial and commercial consumers would be benefited from these pre-paid bills for the six month time.
Secretary Electricity Sardar Zaffar Mehmood, Secretary Industries Khawaja Ahsan and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
