As expected, on May 8 – In a significant escalation of tensions, Indian forces launched an air attack targeting areas near the Line of Control (LoC) and civilians, living in Ahmed Pur East, Muridkey and Mirpur Azad Kashmir.
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) responded with remarkable precision and professionalism, downing five Indian aircraft and effectively neutralizing the threat. According to military sources, over 54 Indian soldiers were killed in retaliatory action along the LoC by Pakistani troops underscoring the severe consequences of India’s aggressive posturing. Moreover, the headquarters of one of the Indian brigades was also destroyed.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the Indian Air Force violated Pakistani airspace in an unprovoked act of aggression. Swift retaliation by Pakistan’s armed forces not only repelled the attack but also inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. Among the 5 downed Aircraft, 3 were French-manufactured Raffle. These became targets of the Pakistan Air Force.
Reportedly, These down Indian aircraft were given high-value targets but their pilots failed miserably.
Adding to the aggression, India sent over 30 Israeli-origin harp drones towards different cities in Pakistan, many of which were intercepted and destroyed by Pakistan’s integrated air defence systems on 9th May. The ISPR emphasized that these provocations represent a deliberate attempt to destabilize the region and divert international attention from the human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
“The armed forces of Pakistan are fully prepared and capable of responding to any misadventure,” said ISPR Director General Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. “Let there be no doubt-every aggression will be met with force, and our response will be swift, precise, and resolute.”
In this time of national challenge, the Pakistani government, opposition parties, and civil society have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces. A unified national front has emerged, with political leaders across the spectrum affirming their full support for the defenders of the homeland.
Prime Minister and military leadership have held high-level security meetings to assess the evolving situation and ensure all necessary measures are in place to safeguard national sovereignty. Pakistan continues to highlight the importance of peace and dialogue but warns that its quest for peace should not be misinterpreted as a sign of weakness.
ISPR reiterated that while Pakistan remains committed to peace and regional stability, it retains every right to respond decisively to any act of aggression. The resolve of the nation is unshakable, and the armed forces are fully prepared to meet any challenge.
