Hasan Nawaz stole the spotlight with a record-breaking maiden century, leading Pakistan to a comfortable chase of 207-1 after New Zealand set a target of 204. The 23-year-old opener, who had recorded ducks in his first two international innings, made a stunning comeback, smashing an unbeaten 105 off just 44 balls—the fastest century by a Pakistani in T20 internationals.
His dazzling knock, laced with 10 fours and 7 sixes, saw Pakistan reach the target with four overs to spare, reversing their fortunes after heavy defeats in Christchurch and Dunedin. Nawaz sealed the win in style, smashing consecutive fours off Kyle Jamieson in the 16th over, also bringing up his historic ton. He surpassed Babar Azam’s previous fastest T20 century for Pakistan, which came in 49 balls against South Africa in 2021.
Strong Support from Haris and Salman
Pakistan’s chase was powered by an explosive start from Mohammad Haris (41 off 20), who partnered with Nawaz for a rapid 95-run stand. Captain Salman Agha (51 off 31)* provided a steady anchor, ensuring Pakistan comfortably crossed the finish line.
New Zealand’s Struggle Despite Chapman’s Heroics

However, his dismissal triggered a batting collapse, as the hosts were bowled out in the final over for 204. Michael Bracewell (31) was the only other notable contributor for the Black Caps.
