Pakistan Crushes South Korea to Extend Winning Streak in Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship

JEONJU: Pakistan continued their dominant run at the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025, overpowering hosts South Korea 91-6 in their third group-stage fixture at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium on Sunday.

From the opening whistle, the Pakistani squad displayed superior skill, fluid coordination, and unrelenting teamwork, maintaining full control of the match and preventing the South Koreans from mounting any significant resistance.

Key players contributing to the emphatic win included Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Haleema, Sarina Hussain, Jasmine Farooq, Farah Rasheed, Amani, Parisa, Sumayya Ahmed, and Alina, all of whom played vital roles both offensively and defensively.

With this victory, Pakistan tops Pool B, remaining undefeated in the tournament. The team is now preparing for their fourth group-stage match against Japan on Monday, followed by their final round-robin clash against the Maldives on July 1.

Chairman of the Pakistan Netball Federation, Mudassar Arain, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz congratulated the team for their outstanding performance and praised the players’ discipline, consistency, and focus throughout the championship so far.

The Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025, organized under the aegis of the Asian Netball Federation, features 11 teams competing from June 27 to July 4.

The tournament is split into two groups:

  • Group A: Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India.

  • Group B: Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Japan, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia.

Having already played three of their five scheduled matches, Pakistan now looks to carry their winning momentum into the crucial final rounds, with the ultimate goal of reaching the knockout stage and clinching the title.
