Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, has been actively promoting Pakistan as a leading investment destination. His personal visits to the booths of Memory Technology Corporation (MTC) and Garaj, operated by Jazz Pakistan, at GITEX highlighted his efforts to encourage international collaboration and investment in the country’s tech sector.
One of the key moments at GITEX 2024 was the signing of a digital Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, and Houssam Mobied, CEO of MTC. Present at the signing were Jamal Ali Khan, Head of Indirect Sales Channel, and Tabish Zaidi, Country Manager at MTC Dubai, reinforcing the significance of this partnership. This strategic alliance aims to revolutionize cloud services and storage solutions in Pakistan, with Garaj playing a critical role in providing the digital infrastructure for transformation.
Houssam Mobied’s vision for Pakistan has been pivotal over the past five years. He successfully brought global tech leaders like Toshiba, Western Digital, and SanDisk into the Pakistani market, recognizing the potential in its youthful population – 64% under the age of 30. Even during the challenges of the pandemic, MTC opened two new offices in Pakistan, underlining the company’s commitment to the region’s growth. His continued advocacy for a business-friendly environment has ensured that Pakistan remains a key focus for MTC’s future growth.
