SHARJAH (UAE): The Pakistan Social Center Sharjah, in collaboration with the Pakistani community in Sharjah, successfully organized its 7th annual Mango Festival, showcasing the national fruit of Pakistan to diverse communities in the UAE.
The event, which saw a large turnout of Pakistani expatriates and other residents, aimed to introduce the “King of Fruits” to a wider audience and promote Pakistani produce internationally.
Khalid Hussain Chaudhry, President of Pakistan Social Center Sharjah, stated, “This year’s Mango Mela was our most successful yet. Our goal is to promote Pakistani fruits globally and foster community spirit among expatriates.”
The festival featured a wide variety of mangoes, with Chaudhry highlighting that Pakistan exports 25 to 30 different types of mangoes worldwide. He emphasized the importance of increasing mango exports and educating younger generations about Pakistan’s rich mango heritage.
“Pakistan produces some of the world’s finest mangoes. It’s crucial for our children to understand the diversity and quality of mangoes from our homeland,” Chaudhry added.
The event offered entertainment for all ages, including mango-themed games for children, adults, and families. Live music performances and a raffle draw added to the festive atmosphere. Business leaders and exporters also participated, with Chaudhry encouraging them to boost mango exports.
The Mango Festival concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting, symbolizing the sweet success of the event and the enduring popularity of Pakistani mangoes.
