Pakistan Well-Positioned to Benefit from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Strengthen Investment and Trade: Jam Kamal

Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, emphasized that Pakistani companies are well-placed to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a transformative agenda aimed at diversifying Saudi Arabia’s economy across sectors such as tourism, renewable energy, technology, infrastructure, and more. Speaking at the Pakistan-Saudi Arab Business Forum, Kamal highlighted the growing opportunities in construction, IT services, skilled labor, and agriculture for Pakistan.

The minister praised Saudi Arabia’s leadership under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for fostering cooperation and underscored Pakistan’s ability to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia’s market with strategic outreach and improved market access.

To further strengthen ties, the Ministry of Commerce plans to organize a single-country exhibition in Jeddah in February 2025, aimed at connecting Pakistani businesses with Saudi brands and importers. Kamal also welcomed Saudi Minister for Investment Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh and his delegation to Pakistan, emphasizing the potential for enhanced trade and investment cooperation.

Kamal noted that Pakistan’s primary exports to Saudi Arabia, which include cereals, rice, meat, textiles, fruits, and vegetables, have substantial growth potential, especially with rising demand for quality food products in the Saudi market. The ministry has developed a comprehensive business plan targeting key sectors like food, textiles, leather goods, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, IT services, and renewable energy for enhanced marketing and promotion.

While food and textiles currently dominate over 85% of Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia, sectors like pharmaceuticals, construction materials, surgical instruments, and sports goods offer promising growth opportunities. Kamal invited Saudi delegates to attend the upcoming Texpo in Karachi and the auto market industry Expo in Lahore later this month, signaling further collaboration opportunities between the two nations.

As Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to deepen their trade and investment ties, Jam Kamal stressed that this partnership is poised to unlock new economic opportunities for both countries.
