KARACHI: Newly elected Chairman of United Business Group (UBG) Shahzad A. Malik has said UBG is optimistic of success in upcoming election 2023 of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) with having overwhelming support of majority of chambers of commerce and Industry and affiliated trade associations in a candidates introductory meeting on Saturday, held at a local hotel, here Saturday.
Addressing the UBG top leadership he stressed on starting a campaign as soon as possible. Former President LCCI and newly appointed Chairman Shahzad Ali Malik said that UBG will continue to live up to the aspirations and expectations of their voters and take chambers and associations into confidence before compiling uniform proposals to be placed before government for redressal of genuine grievances being confronted by business community across the country.
He said that if UBG voted to power all out hectic efforts will be made on top priority for ease of doing business and government will be approached to offer more attractive package of incentives to boost export and bringing industrial revolution which he added will help improve socio economic conditions of the masses besides strengthening the national economy in addition to generating ample job opportunities for unemployed youth.
He said world over only the private sector provided jobs and not governments so Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif must attach great importance to the business community and their elected representatives for sound health of the national economy, which is in dire need.
Former President FPCCI and Senior leader Ghazanfar Biloor said “Pakistan’s economy is at the verge of destruction. We are sensitizing the government to take immediate measures for the revival of the economy and in the best interest of the public.”
Riaz ud Din UBG Chairman Division lamented that the Group of Businessmen’s Panel had badly tarnished the image of the FPCCI during its regime and the business community and industrialists were badly affected by government un friendly business policies, In such a situation, the FPCCI officials had left the business community alone. FPCCI is responsible for the losses incurred by the incompetent BMP. He said that our candidates would restore the identity of the representative bodies of the business community by achieving great success and FPCCI would play an important role in collaboration with the government for the development of the national economy.
Zubair Tufail, President of UBG, Muhammad Hanif Gohar, Gulzar Feroze, Central Spokesperson, former Chairman ABAB, Arif Jeeva, Ikhtiar Baig also addressed the function.
Abdul Sami Khan, Noor Ahmad Khan, Mumtaz Sheikh, Shakeel Dinra, Senator Haseeb Khan, Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, Salman Aslam, Ikram Rajpoot, Umer Rehan, Farzan Burni, Mehar Alam saeeda Haider and others also attended this meeting.
