ISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products in Pakistan are expected to decrease for the upcoming fortnight starting February 16, 2025. According to official and industry sources, petrol is likely to become cheaper by Rs2.49 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) may see a significant reduction of Rs9.11 per litre.
With this adjustment, the new price of petrol is expected to be Rs254.64 per litre, down from the current Rs257.13 per litre. Similarly, diesel prices are anticipated to decrease to Rs288.84 per litre from Rs297.95 per litre.
The reduction in fuel prices is attributed to a decline in global oil prices, driven by increased hydrocarbon exploration in the USA and diplomatic efforts between the United States and Russia to ease tensions over the Ukraine conflict. These factors have contributed to a positive shift in the international oil market.
The official confirmation of the new prices will be announced by the government.
