PM Shehbaz Highlights Saudi Arabia’s Central Role in Pakistan’s Economic Agenda at Riyadh Meeting

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during his recent visit to Saudi Arabia, underscored the depth of Pakistan-Saudi relations, lauding Saudi Arabia’s support for Pakistan’s economic stability and revival. In a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) at the eighth Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, the Prime Minister detailed Pakistan’s ongoing economic and policy reforms, attributing a pivotal role to Saudi Arabia in Pakistan’s economic plans.

Discussing regional peace, PM Shehbaz praised Saudi efforts for stability in the Middle East, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to stand with the kingdom. He shared his government’s aspirations for a knowledge-based economy focused on AI, education, and healthcare, and invited Saudi and international investors to join Pakistan in fostering growth. He expressed his vision for Pakistan’s youth to drive future innovation and technological advancement, inspired by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Addressing the FII plenary session, PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of global collaboration in tackling modern challenges, advocating for partnerships in fields like AI, climate resilience, and public health. He highlighted ongoing initiatives in Pakistan’s educational and healthcare sectors, noting projects like Daanish Schools, the Education Endowment Fund, and advancements in health-tech solutions as key to empowering the younger generation.

The PM expressed gratitude to King Salman and MBS for their visionary efforts in hosting the FII, which is focused on sustainable investments in sectors like robotics, space, and renewable energy. His two-day visit to Riyadh also included discussions with the Saudi leadership on strengthening trade and investment ties, aligning with Pakistan’s broader economic goals.
