Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized that the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China is crucial not only for the two nations but also for regional and global peace and development. He made these remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad.
PM Shehbaz praised China for its unwavering support to Pakistan during challenging times, acknowledging the Chinese leadership’s vision of continuously strengthening strategic ties between the two countries. He also highlighted the importance of upgrading the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which remains a cornerstone of their bilateral relationship.
Expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to deepen cooperation with China, the prime minister mentioned areas such as information technology, artificial intelligence, and modern agriculture as key sectors for future collaboration.
He reiterated that the Pak-China friendship has withstood the test of time, remaining strong and resilient through various challenges.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and other relevant officials.
