Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to the nation on the departure of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) first flight to Paris, marking the resumption of European routes after a long hiatus.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the restoration of PIA’s flights to Europe will provide much-needed convenience to overseas Pakistanis, allowing them to benefit from direct flight services.
He noted that the suspension of these flights had caused significant financial losses, amounting to billions of dollars, and damaged the airline’s reputation.
“By the grace of Allah, the government has successfully restored the dignity of our national airline,” said the Prime Minister, adding that PIA is now on a path of growth following the restoration of its European operations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of Aviation and Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and all associated institutions, officers, and staff for their commendable efforts in this achievement.
