As the PTI prepared for their eagerly awaited power show in Kahna, the provincial capital, on Saturday, a number of its leaders made their way towards Lahore.

Late Friday night, the PTI was ultimately given permission to organize the rally, subject to meeting 43 criteria, ending the standoff with the Punjab government.

The party had previously applied for permission to host its much awaited event at the famous Greater Iqbal park, home of Minar-i-Pakistan. On the Lahore Ring Road, Kahna was given the assignment instead.

PTI-shared videos show that party leaders, including Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub, were in route as they attempted to “open” their route to Kahna.

The KP CM personally led the way as party workers passed the roadblocks close to the Attock toll in a video that PTI uploaded on X.

In a video message that was uploaded on X, Ayub stated, “Our convoy will meet chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa […] and then, god willing, we will go towards Lahore.”

The head of the opposition stated, “We have machinery, we will open the way and go,” in response to a query concerning obstacles and barriers along the route. Nobody is able to stop us.

Prior to the rally starting at 3 p.m., Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb wrote on X that PTI had not been able to fill even “three dozen” seats.

She said that “fake and outdated videos” from the prior event had been broadcast by the party. stating that there is “no doubt” since her party will release the original scenes this time.

Videos that were posted by the PTI Lahore account allegedly showed party leaders and employees traveling to Lahore from different parts of Punjab and KP.

Nonetheless, it was said in a message that traffic had been stopped near the Rajana interchange.

Five PTI leaders have been given detention orders.

Five PTI leaders, including party vice president for Lahore, Akmal Khan Bari, were placed under arrest orders earlier today by Lahore Deputy Commissioner (DC), Syed Musa Raza.

Five PTI leaders were to be held for 30 days following their detention under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public ruling Ordinance, according to the ruling, a copy of which is accessible on Dawn.com.

Shahzaib Khan, Akhtar Munna, Mazhar Shah, Raja Shafiq, and Bari were among the PTI leaders, according to the order, which also stated that they were “prejudicial to the public safety” and MPO.

The statement went on to say, “They incite the public through their objectionable speeches and create problems for the law enforcement agencies (LEAs)” and that the leaders were always working to undermine law and order and public peace.
