Information Minister Attaullah Tarar addressed a viral video from the PTI protest, clarifying that the man seen atop a container at D-Chowk was filming a TikTok video, not praying, as claimed by PTI. Tarar refuted allegations that the man had been pushed off and killed, confirming he was alive with minor injuries.
The minister accused PTI of spreading propaganda, including using AI-generated and old images to mislead the public about casualties. He dismissed claims of sniper fire and direct shooting, emphasizing that security forces were unarmed.
Tarar criticized PTI for politicizing deaths, stating that no bodies were received at hospitals and highlighting inconsistencies in their narratives. He also accused the party of sabotaging the economy, burning their own container, and misleading the public with false claims of law enforcement violence.
He vowed expedited trials for those arrested and assured accountability for spreading misinformation.
