LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department has announced new school timings for Ramadan, which will be implemented across all schools in the province.
Revised School Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Double-shift schools:
- First shift: 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM
- Second shift: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Female students will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier than the official closing time.
Ramadan Moon Sighting
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Peshawar on February 28 (Friday) to sight the Ramadan crescent. If sighted, Ramadan will begin on March 1 (Saturday).
However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) have forecasted that Ramadan is expected to start on March 2 (Sunday).
