ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has termed the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Saudi Arabia as very significant in the perspective of developments taking place in the region particularly Afghan peace process and security situation in South Asia.
Radio Pakistan reported an interview of Qureshi with Saudi TV channel where he said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy time tested strategic ties based on trust and confidence. Responding to question he said newly established Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council will provide the opportunity for both the countries to further strengthen their economic and security cooperation in institutionalized manner.
Responding to a question, foreign minister said Iran is Pakistan’s neighboring country and part of Ummah and Islamabad wants stable border with it.
He said there always have been detractors to disturb Pak-Saudi relations, but they have failed in the past and will fail now and in future as the bond between two countries is too strong and reliable and they do not understand the depth and strength of relations. – TLTP
