“Rizwan’s 171-Run Innings Draws High Praise from PCB Chief”

In the opening Test against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan received high praise from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for his remarkable 171-run innings. Naqvi commended Rizwan on X for his exceptional performance, describing him as “an unstoppable force” and congratulating him for scoring 150 runs with nine fours and three sixes.

Rizwan’s unbeaten knock of 171 off 239 balls, which included 11 boundaries and three sixes, helped Pakistan declare their innings at 448/6. Vice-captain Saud Shakeel also contributed with 141 runs from 261 balls, including nine fours. Shaheen Afridi added 29 runs off 24 balls.

For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud each took two wickets, while Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed one wicket each.

On day one, Pakistan faced early challenges against Bangladesh’s pace attack, losing Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood, and Babar Azam within the first ten overs. However, Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel’s 98-run partnership provided a crucial recovery. Saim scored his maiden Test fifty with 56 runs off 98 balls, featuring four boundaries and a six.
