KARACHI: The evolving role of Human Resources in an AI-driven workplace transformation was discussed during a breakfast session held on Saturday at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA) Head Office, Karachi.
The session was organized by the ICMA Job Placements and Industrial Linkages Department and featured an engaging panel discussion titled “Change Management: Navigating Transitions in the Workplace.” Distinguished industry leaders shared valuable insights on managing organizational change, strengthening HR’s strategic role, and preparing workplaces for future challenges.
HR leaders highlighted the critical importance of change management for organizational growth and sustainability, emphasizing HR’s evolving role as a strategic partner during transitions. The discussion focused on building future-ready organizations in an increasingly dynamic environment and explored the growing significance of Emotional Intelligence in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
Experienced HR professionals shared practical, real-world insights into the role of AI in recruitment, including candidate shortlisting and evolving hiring procedures. The panel unanimously agreed that the role of HR must be upgraded to meet the demands of digital transformation and technological advancement.
The panel included Faisal Shiraz Merchant, Group Executive Director, Ano & Batla Industries; Shakeel Mapara, Advisor OD, Packages Group; Nida Yousuf, Head of Human Resources, Pakistan State Oil; and Haris Hussain, General Manager HR & Administration, Puma Energy Pakistan.
The session was moderated by Mr. Shams Bhimani, Head of the Job Placements and Industrial Linkages Department, ICMA International. He ensured an interactive and insightful discussion and emphasized the need for collaborative platforms that promote learning, dialogue, and professional networking within the HR community.
