RAWALPINDI: Seven Frontier Corps (FC) personnel embraced martyrdom when terrorists targeted their checkpost in the Shahrag area in Harnai, Balochistan, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday.
The military’s media wing said, “The brave soldiers embraced shahadat while repulsing raiding terrorists.”
The martyred FC soldiers were identified as Naib Subedar Gulzar, resident of Mianwali; Sepoy Faisal, resident of Hafiz Abad; Sepoy Abdul Wakeel, resident of Pishin; Sepoy Sher Zaman, resident of Kohat; Sepoy Jamal resident of Dera Bugti; Abdul Rauf resident of DG Khan; and Faqeer Muhammad. resident of Muzaffargarh.
The security forces were said to have cordoned off the area and blocked all escape routes to apprehend the fleeing miscreants, ISPR added. A large-scale search and clearance operation was in progress.
“Such cowardly acts by inimical elements backed by anti-state forces will not be allowed to sabotage hard earned peace and prosperity in Balochistan,” the army’s media wing maintained.
The ISPR added that, “Security forces are determined to thwart their nefarious designs at all costs.”
A day ago, on December 27, an anti-terrorism court issued lifelong arrest warrants for 15 members of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) accused in a case pertaining to the 2018 attack on the Chinese consulate after declaring them absconders. During the hearing at the Karachi Central Jail, the court directed the relevant authorities to seize all movable and immovable properties of the accused and put their sketches on display.
The accused who are on the run and declared absconders include Marri, Alidad Buledi, Commander Sharif, Rashid Hussain and Sameer, among others. – TLTP
