The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notices to the provincial chief secretary, secretary services, secretary health as well as to the advocate general in a constitutional petition filed by the head nurse/nursing superintendent of Dr. Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, Shaheen Akhtar, who is seeking promotion to the post of chief nursing superintendent.
A division bench of the SHC headed by Justice Junaid Ghaffar heard the petition.
Barrister Asad Ahmed, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that despite the health department’s four-tier service structure being approved and the requisite sanction by the finance department in field, the health department has failed to include the post of chief nursing superintendent in the relevant appointment rules.
