KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued show-cause notices to the Secretary School Education and Literacy Department Sindh and Director of School Education for failing to comply with an earlier court order. The hearing took place before a single-member bench headed by Justice Mahmood A Khan, says a Press release. It merits mention here that in the earlier order, the court had directed the government authorities to hand over possession of the premises of Government Delhi School for Boys and Girls to the Delhi-Anglo Arabic College & School Old Boys Association and directed them to explain as to why possession of the school premises is not to be handed over to the Old Boys Association through the Nazir of the Court by issuance of writ of possession. Barrister Asad Ahmed, counsel for the Old Boys Association, pleaded that a contempt application has been moved against authorities for not complying with the court order along with a stay application seeking to restrain any further construction being carried out in the school premises. The court while granting the stay and barred the authorities from carrying out any construction as well as issued show cause notices to the concerned officials. The educational institution is situated at Karachi’s Karimabad area and comprises four blocks — out of which only one block has yet been handed over to the Old Boys Association.
