Sri Lanka crush India by 6 wickets in Asia Cup’s super 4 round

DUBAI: Pakistan and Afghanistan will meet in the super four round in the Asia Cup 2022 in Sharjah today (Wednesday). Pakistan after the win against India is favourite despite a good performance of Afghanistan in the competition.

News from Pakistan camp is that wicket keeper Mohammad Rizwan has been declared fit to playIn an exciting and thrilling encounter match Sri Lanka defeated India by 6 wickets.
India batting first scored 173 for the loss of 8 wickets. Rohit Sharma batted well and scored 72 off 41 balls. In reply Sri scored 174 for the loss of 4 wickets in 19.5 overs. The foundation of the Sri Lankan victory was laid by their openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis as they scored 97 runs for the first wicket. Kusal made 57 off 37 deliveries and Nissanka scored 52 off 37 balls.

Sri Lankan bow lets Dilshan Madushanka and Chamika Karunaratne bowled to a nagging line and length, never allowed Indian batters to score freely. Madushanka took 3 wickets for 24 runs and Karunaratne claimed 2 wickets for 27 runs.
Whether India goes to the final much depends on the results of other matches. For now India is in hot water.
