KARACHI: The first semi-final of the Naya Nazimabad Floodlights Football Tournament was played at the lush green football ground of Naya Nazimabad in which the strong team of Sui Southern Gas Company won by three goals, says a Press release.
The first goal of the game was scored by Abdul FC in the 28th minute by Shayan Dost of the game.
In the second half, the players of Sui Southern Gas fought back brilliantly and three goals scored. Abdul Salam in the 65th minute, Abdul Waheed in the 69th minute and Ali Khan in the 86th minute ensured the victory of their team by delivering the ball into the net.
Chief Guest Imtiaz Sheikh, Vice President, Sindh Olympic Association, presented Masha United Man of the Match Award to Abdul Salam for his outstanding performance in the first semi-final. Imtiaz Sheikh said that he was pleasantly surprised to see the magnificent sports infrastructure in Naya Nazimabad.
Promoting healthy activities and creating opportunities in any society is a positive process. He said that a housing society like Naya Nazimabad is an example for others to follow suit.
According to Tournament Director Nasir Ismail, the number of goals scored by Sui Gas striker Abdul Waheed has increased to ten in the tournament, which is still leading the race for the top scorer award of the event. The final of the event will be played on Saturday, June 12 at 9 p.m.
