KARACHI: Affected residents of Nasla Tower Shahra Faisal Sindhi Muslim Housing Society have appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan in the name of basic human rights to suspend the order to demolish the building till the revised appeal is heard because in the hearing of the builders, the Supreme Court without hearing their lawyer and without knowing their stance, issued the order, says a Press release.
The implementation of the order issued by Bench has created a danger of a great human tragedy in the country. These views were expressed on Sunday by Nasla tower allotees Action Committee Convener Professor Imtiaz, Dr. Chatura Kumar, Wali Moria, Muhammad Ali, Abdul Qadir and other victims of the Nasla Tower addressing an emergency Press conference on the road in front of the building and peaceful protest of the victims.
In addition to the elderly and disabled residents, a large number of women and innocent children were present. The leaders of the Action Committee said that we have bought the flats after verifying the certified permits of the government and relevant agencies by lifelong Struggle. But in the eyes of the Supreme Court if there is any irregularity in its construction, the order to evict us is not only against the basic human rights but it is also a question mark on justice.
The victims have appealed to the Chief Justice, the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Governor of Sindh and the Chief Minister of Sindh, the media and all human rights activists to be their voice in this hour of need and to play their part in preventing their unwarranted destruction.
According to the victims, they are following the advice of their legal advisers by filing an emergency review appeal. He said that the number of victims of Nasla Tower is high and this grief will not be cured for the rest of their life. Therefore, about 200 victims, including 44 flat owners, have to take every step to save their flats as per the law.
