South Punjab is rich in all kinds of wealth. The land of South Punjab is also fertile and the people living here do farming and rearing animals and get their livelihood from this. Let me tell about how he helped Pakistan. Bahawalpur was a developed state where people were living happily.
Bahawalpur was the largest Muslim state covering an area of 480 km and 20 thousand square km. The state of Bahawalpur was ranked seventh among the 565 semi-autonomous states of India with an area of 45,588 square kilometers. It was founded in 1733 by Nawab Sadiq Khan I, a chieftain of the Abbasid Daud dynasty, who wrested it from the Dravidian Fort, Rawal Akhi Singh. Bahawalpur was the first state to accede to Pakistan on October 5, 1947 after partition.
Before the establishment of Pakistan, the Indian government offered Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi a blank check and Ferozepur district to be added to Bahawalpur in exchange for annexation of Bahawalpur state, India, which Nawab of Bahawalpur refused; annexed to Pakistan unconditionally and opened the mouth of his treasury to the people of Pakistan and took off his crown for Pakistan.
Before the establishment of Pakistan, the British government gave a check of 52 thousand pounds to the Nawab of Bahawalpur, Sir Sadiq donated this money to Quaid-i-Azam for the struggle of Pakistan, Hafeez Jalandhari, the creator of the National Anthem, received a stipend from the state of Bahawalpur, Allama Iqbal was given financial assistance by the state, Allama Iqbal drew the attention of Nawab Sahib, sent to the educational institutions of Lahore, which was accepted by the state and when the meat was only four annas per kilo (one rupee used to be 16 annas), a reasonable stipend was issued for the educational institutions of Lahore, King Edward Education Fund 150000 rupees, Islamia. College Lahore 30000 rupees, Anjuman Support Islam 107000 rupees, Punjab University 14000 rupees, Anjuman Hilal Ahamar 14000 rupees.
Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah used Sir Sadiq Muhammad Abbasi’s car Rolls-Royce BWP-72 to take oath and inspect the guard of honor, along with Lord Mountbatten and Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, after the creation of Pakistan. Immediately after its creation, Nawab of Bahawalpur gave more than 10 million rupees in the treasury of Pakistan as aid, the state of Bahawalpur gave salaries to the government employees of the entire Pakistan in the initial months, Nawab of Bahawalpur took more than one hundred thousand refugees.
Settled in the state, India stopped the water of Sutlej River through Ferozepur Headworks to punish Bahawalpur, but the Nawab Sahib gave more aid to Pakistan. Muhammad Ali Jinnah used the royal buggy of the Nawab of Bahawalpur, later Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi integrated the forces of Bahawalpur into the forces of Pakistan and deposited an hefty amount to the national exchequer.
Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah gave the title of Patron of Pakistan to Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi, after the death of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Amir of Bahawalpur gave a 12-acre area between his palaces of Al-Qamar and Al-Shams in Karachi to Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah as gave a gift. In 1935, there was an earthquake in Quetta, even then, he provided full assistance to the victims.
According to records of the Government of Pakistan, Punjab University, Aitchison College, King Edward Medical College were also blessed with many donations, which were sometimes in the form of land and sometimes in the form of buildings. It was built for entertainment and Dring Stadium was also built in which the first cricket match between Pakistan and India was played for the first time.
It is surprising that such a great person who not only played his selfless role in the construction of Pakistan but also sacrificed his wealth and possessions in the name of Pakistan, the state which had the honor of being the richest state in India in its time, is a sincere person today. It is anonymous, no one knows how people sacrificed for this region of Pakistan, so Khan Liaquat Ali Khan, Nawab Mahmoodabad, Isfahani Sahib, Seth Adamji, Seth Habib also migrated and transferred their capital to Pakistan. He played his full role in strengthening it, but no one could reach the position of Nawab of Bahawalpur.
The Nawabs of Bahawalpur helped Pakistan by taxing the people of Bahawalpur. But unfortunately, the Government of Pakistan could not provide basic facilities to the people of Bahawalpur. It is going to be 69 years and still there is no drinking water for the people of Cholistanyet. Half of their life is spent in water and there are no educational institutions where they can get education. Along with non-availability of water, severe difficulties in means of transportation and other problems, there is also a huge lack of education, the literacy rate is zero, mobile schools have been established by PEF in some areas, but the situation will change.
Among the people, there is no education, no religion, no world, born in Cholistan, grew up there, grew up there, grew old there and died there, ignorant of the duties of speech, prayer and bath. It was very sad to see the innocent children who were engaged in the game with innocent dreams in their eyes. There is no right to live as a citizen. The Government of Pakistan should arrange water for the people of Cholistan. Do not deprive them. They are also Pakistanis and a part of our state.
