The advocacy of human rights protection on global and national core regions seems failed presumably due to un-pragmatic policies of implementation, as the howl of people reported by international media and think tanks are the convictions of mushroom growth of human rights violation.
The massacre of civilians and desecration of humanity especially during World War-II forewarned the policy fabricators to stop future despoliations. Hence, in 1948 the formal document of universal declaration of human rights comprises of 30 articles adopted by UN was applied to all 193 members. Later on the formulation of Pakistani constitution also encapsulated fundamental rights in article 8-28 and principle of policy in article 29-40 to guide the state in promoting the social welfare and equality.
Despite of such a legal framework and bindings there are several assertions reported by human right defenders and guardians. As, according to Amnesty International report Pakistan restricts the freedom of expression of civilians entailed under article 19 like the recent issue on VPN, ban on Space X, Wikipedia and installation of firewall. Besides it the government launched the Digital Rights Protection Authority (DRPA) under 26th Amendment pertaining to PECA Act to decide the public content and access of social media. Similar cases also happened in 2023 regarding PEMRA Bill, suspension of ARY, ban on Imran Khan speeches and related contents.
Secondly, the freedom of religion and believe enacted under article 20-22 is also ram shackled as the past incidence of Jaranwala where the blasphemy allegation of two Christians led to tyrannical attacks on 24 church buildings and 84 houses. It also co-opts the brutality with ahmadies as 34 incidences happened between January and September especially Karachi and Daska.
Furthermore, the claim of peaceful assembly and freedom under article 16-17 is also despoiled as by BBC report Pakistani government desecrated the protestors of PTI on the occasion of 26 November and claimed many fatalities. Similarly on December 1, 2023 it is claimed that two hundred peaceful protestors of BYA led by Maharang Baloch demanding the missing persons were arrested along with the incidence of bellicosity of police against transgender in Islamabad; it also includes the restrictions on Aurat March on The International Women Day.
The arbitrary detentions and arrests also infringe the article 10. The anti-terrorism acts are used as tools to crackdown the opposition. Where it is claimed that 4000 people were arrested along with Iman Mazari and Jibran Nasir the advocates of human rights on the incidence of 9 May out of which 103 were sent to military court for trials.
After that, the enforced disappearances of around 12000 Baloch families out of which 1500 are claimed to be students is also considered as the violation of human and international law. Noteworthy, the human trafficking, child labor, harassment against the transgenders and girls also afflict the social fabric.
In addition, the ambit of these violations are also extended to global core regions like the authoritarian regimes like Belarus, China and Russia where citizens are suppressed by holding powers in few hands. The refugees and black lives in American states are dishonored based on the racial and ethnic differences. The bloodshed in Middle East like genocide in Gaza plunders in Lebanon, Yemen and recently in Syria are the prominent examples to ponder upon.
Lastly, the draconian harms needs to be addressed by first priority through the sustainable implementation strategies where the executive bodies of any nation can play the crucial role with the help of rule of law.
