The US State Department’s spokesperson, Matthew Miller, has condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan that resulted in the deaths of over 50 people, including 14 security personnel. Miller expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families, emphasizing the US’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. The attacks, which included the killing of 23 passengers in Musakhel and a gun attack in Kalat, have drawn strong reactions from both the federal and provincial governments in Pakistan.
Additionally, the Pentagon has also condemned the attacks, though Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh noted that there was currently no US involvement or assistance in response to the situation. However, the US defense department remains open to cooperation with Pakistan in combating terrorism.
In related news, the US State Department reiterated its stance on enforcing sanctions against Iran while highlighting its priority to help Pakistan address its energy shortages through ongoing discussions about energy security.
