Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr and Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmati were crowned FIFA Player of the Year in their respective categories at the FIFA Awards ceremony held in Doha on Tuesday.


Vinicius Jr – Men’s Player of the Year

    • Played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s LaLiga and Champions League double, including a goal in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
    • Finished ahead of Spain’s Rodri and England’s Jude Bellingham for the top honor.

Aitana Bonmati – Women’s Player of the Year

    • Played pivotal roles in Spain’s Nations League triumph, scoring in both the semi-final and final.
    • Outperformed Zambia’s Barbra Banda and Norway’s Caroline Graham Hansen to secure the award.
    • Won the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive year in October.
