Tragic sectarian violence erupted in Karachi, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and significant property damage. The incident occurred at an Imam Bargah where Shia community members were making arrangements for the upcoming Chehlum Majlis.
Witnesses report that the violence began when a group associated with Sipah-e-Sahaba arrived at the Imam Bargah and allegedly began damaging property. Amid the chaos, a young Shia boy, who was busy setting up a tent for the next day’s Majlis, was fatally attacked by the mob.
The situation escalated further when two members of the Sunni group, allegedly carrying weapons, attempted to enter the premises of the Imam Bargah. In the ensuing altercation, both individuals were killed.
In retaliation, the mob set fire to five vehicles parked nearby, intensifying the tension in the area. Law enforcement authorities arrived on the scene shortly after, attempting to restore order and prevent further violence.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with leaders from both sects calling for calm and condemning the acts of violence. The authorities have launched an investigation and are urging the public to remain peaceful during this sensitive time.
